The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (UNUSA) conducted an official academic visit to Universiti Islam Selangor (UIS) on Thursday, July 31, 2025, as part of the faculty’s effort to expand international cooperation in Islamic-based higher education and global academic exchange.
The delegation was represented by two lecturers from the English Education Study Program, Mr. Mujad Didien Afandi and Ms. Savira Zaniar, who engaged in a series of discussions with UIS representatives regarding collaborative opportunities in joint academic programs, student and lecturer mobility, international teaching practicums, and research initiatives in Islamic and global education studies.
The meeting highlighted shared commitments between FKIP UNUSA and UIS in promoting intercultural academic collaboration, character-based education, and scholarly development aligned with Islamic values and global educational demands.
Both institutions expressed strong interest in formalizing the partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which will serve as the foundation for joint activities such as international seminars, guest lectures, collaborative research, and cross-border learning experiences for students.
The visit reflects FKIP UNUSA’s continuous mission to strengthen its international academic presence and prepare future educators with global competence, strong intellectual foundation, and Islamic integrity.


Following the initial visit in July, a delegation from Universiti Islam Selangor (UIS) paid a visit to the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (UNUSA) on Thursday, October 31, 2025. The event was held at UNUSA Campus C, Auditorium 2nd Floor, as part of ongoing efforts to solidify collaborative initiatives between the two institutions.
The visit aimed to advance discussions on the implementation of joint programs in Islamic education, international teaching practicums, student and staff mobility, collaborative research, and cross-cultural community service initiatives.
During the session, both parties finalized plans for developing international guest lecture and teaching exchange programs, organizing joint academic seminars, workshops, and research publications and launching mobility programs for students and lecturers in English education and Islamic studies.
The visit also included a tour of UNUSA facilities and academic dialogue sessions, highlighting the shared commitment to nurturing educators who are globally competent, culturally grounded, and aligned with Islamic values.
This reciprocal visit signifies FKIP UNUSA’s continued dedication to strengthening international collaboration, fostering cross-cultural learning, and building sustainable academic networks between Indonesia and Malaysia.
